Major repairs have been completed at St Helen’s Church, Ranworth, restoring this medieval treasure to its former glory.
A significant programme of work, carried out with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Ranworth Trust and the Geoffrey Watling Charity, has renewed the roof of this wonderful building and improved the rain water drainage. This vital work has now been largely completed, although there are still some small scale external groundworks to be completed.
The medieval rood screen, one of several important historic artefacts in the church, has been cleared of scaffolding and protective coverings and is on view to visitors once again. Its future has now been secured for generations to come.
Our famous Visitors’ Centre, serving light refreshments, is open daily until the end of October half term and will continue on Saturdays and Sundays only from the beginning of November for the winter months.
